Voting in USoS 2020 has closed!
Phew. What a long time this contest has gone. But the good news is that the Final Results video is already under way, and as always, it will be presented "live", Eurovision style, with Greg as your host! We received 17 jury votes and 57 public votes. We need to review the votes for accuracy, but these are the maximum totals we can expect. Thank you to everyone who voted. Remember: the 17 Jury votes will account for 50% of the score. The other 57 public votes account for the other 50%.
While you wait for the votes to be counted and for the presentation of the results, please take a moment to listen to the interval act. This year's theme is "Show Me The Music", and as it turns out, Missourians already have a TV show by this name, thanks to St. Louis station STL-TV. They recently showcased Abigail Stalschmidt, a former resident and graduate of the University of Missouri @ St. Louis. She is becoming an internationally recognized violinist, having performed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria; Sarajevo, Bosnia; and all throughout the United States. She composed the piece you're about to hear, "Dawn of War" along with Alabamian native Cliff Downs on piano. They are joined by 25 other musicians from all over the world. They recorded and released this video virtually over the summer. And even if it's not "live", even if they're at home, it's still an amazing example of the quality of music that Missouri has to offer.
Our goal is to have the results out within the next two weeks. It may take a little longer, but we are determined to make it the best possible show, given how patient everyone has been. So... do you have any predictions? Do you think the public vote will be vastly different? Leave your thoughts in the comments below! Cheers!
