USoS 2020: FL, TN Results + State Selections
THE DUELS ARE OVER! There were just a handful of voters, but the results were clear. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the songs going to Kansas City are: Florida: NYA - Love You To Death (submitted by Greg, Selvin)
Tennessee: Built By Titan ft. Joe Kirk - Ghost (submitted by Pablo)
Congratulations! The first two entries of this season are known. Thank you to everyone who voted. Fun fact: I've known about The Dollyrots for almost ten years because they had a small radio hit in my hometown region, "Because I'm Awesome". They never really took off nationally, so it was cool to see they're still around. They would have had my vote in case of a tie. I would have also chosen Built By Titan. Regardless, we started this season off with two really solid entries, and I'm very proud of everyone!
But now, the real fun begins. Welcome to...
The 2020 STATE SONG SELECTIONS!
Three more states are holding song selections to choose their entry! As announced in a previous blog post, they are California, New York, and Texas. Each selection has eight songs (submitted from many of you!) The songs we chose from those submitted were based either on song variety, submitter variety, whether it fit the rules of the contest, and several other factors. If your song didn't make it, we apologize. Most of mine (Greg) were eliminated!
The songs are compiled into the recap videos you see below. We will vote using points to determine the winner of each, and we need YOUR VOTES to help us find out who wins!
The order of the songs is completely randomized to eliminate any bias. It's the luck of the draw completely at play here. On that note, here are the selections:

VOTE To vote, click the "Vote" link on the website's header (or click here). You can send the specific points (use this format: 10-8-6-4-2-1), or send a full ranking if that's easier to the contest email address.
You don't need to send all states at once; you don't even need to vote for every state (but it would be cool if you did!) A summary of all 24 songs are included above to help you out as you vote. The deadline to vote is MARCH 7th, 2020. We will tabulate the points after the deadline, and announce the winner by March 15th.
MEANWHILE...
As the state selections are going on, we will begin announcing the entries for the other states in blog posts similar to last year! That way it doesn't feel like we're solely focused on doing chunks of voting at a time, and then we can perhaps be ready before March is over for the First Semifinal? Perhaps? Is this enough info for a little blog post? Probably, haha. Best of luck to all the songs out there, and have fun!
Now get out there and VOTE. Cheers!
