Submit songs for United States of Song 2020!
Hey, everyone. Now that USoS have undergone an official "rebirth", we can open our doors for our fifth season! Five wholesome years of American music kick off with a call for song submissions! Yes - if you have music to share with us, or if you're a band that wants to compete, now is your chance.
To send us one or more songs for consideration, click here to open the submission form.
When submitting songs, be aware of the official rules. We only accept songs by artists and bands from the 50 U.S. states or any U.S. territory. Secondly, the song must have been released in the year 2019 - no exceptions. If we find proof that it was released prior to January 2019, the song will not be accepted. Thirdly, the song must be between 3 and 4 minutes in length. This is so no song has an unintentional advantage over another. As it is, most songs these days fit within this time length.
There are some other rules to be aware of, as well, and they are listed in the submissions form. Pay attention to them to save your time later!
If we receive a high amount of submissions for a particular U.S. state or territory, we may hold a public selection, which allows the community to vote for their favorite entry. We will announce which states we will do this for after the song submission period has ended.
If you are an artist or musician who performed or wrote a song for submission to the contest, we want to give you preferred treatment over other entries. We had a few entries from artists last year, but none of them fit the rules or standards of the contest. We're clarifying to those out there that we do wanna hear from the independent artists and musicians of our country.
The submission form will be open until January 26, 2020, after which the (un)official USoS committee will review and choose the finalist for each state. The committee looks for songs that hold their own ground, do not aim to offend, and come from a variety of genres.
Thank you for your interest in our contest! We are proud to entertain you with fantastic music and fun-loving competition. Hopefully this is the year we break 100 voters!
