Hi there everyone - this post is a bit late for us, considering our deadlines. The three state song selection voting periods have ended. We know the winner for all three, but two of those will remain a mystery for now (California and New York are in Semifinal 2.) So now, without further ado, we introduce you to the Tennessean winner!

Tennessee (State Song Selection)

Zayde Wolf - Gladiator

Congratulations to the first winner of the three state selections – Zayde Wolf! Also known as Dustin Burnett, Wolf was born in Kentucky but moved to Nashville (of course) to jump-start his career. It takes a powerful voice to release a song titled 'Gladiator'. He has been working in Tennessee for over 10 years in music production, and only now is he dipping his feet into his own career ambitions.

Indiana

Tate Kirgiss – “In Color”

The multi-talented Tate Kirgiss spends his time in Lafayette filming and photographing weddings and special events. When he’s not doing that, he’s working on his music career; “In Color” is an upbeat pop-rock song of love to someone who brings out the color in life!

Georgia

Daye Jack – “Heart Shaped Culdesac”

Here’s some hip-hop for you: Daye Jack is an ATL native based in Duluth and born in Nigeria. The 23-year-old has been floating around the scene for a few years now. The rapping verses have a very chill “Diddy”-like vibe, but he busts out into song for the pre-choruses. The song and video have been described by The Fader magazine as a “Truman Show inspired ode to suburbia.”

Minnesota

Cobi – “Church of the Lonely”

Hozier? Is that you? Nope, it’s Cobi – born in Grand Marais and schooled at the Berkley College of Music in Boston. In 2008 he was part of the band Gentlemen Hall, which had occasional success throughout the early 2010s. In 2015, he went solo – and his soulful sound derives from his inspiration to the heyday of 60’s and 70’s soul music.
