50SS 2019 Entries: Alabama, Missouri, Wyoming
Today we announce three more entries that have been selected to participate in 50SS 2019. This makes it 6 out of 51, with 3 being decided through state selections and 1 (Alaska) being announced in a couple months' time.
Alabama
Ryan Kinder – “Stay”
Ryan Kinder is no stranger to country music fans, having released several hits over the last couple years such as “Close” and “Too Much.” Despite this, he’s never cracked the Top 40 Airplay charts, and thus is eligible for 50 States of Song. The Birmingham native now lives in Nashville (duh) and continues to work diligently as a now-independent artist.

Missouri
Yes You Are – “Blacklight”
Missouri has remained one of the most successful states in 50SS. It was down to two songs this year, but we were captivated by the motivating synth pop beat in “Blacklight,” laden with acoustic guitar, bass riffs, and Kiara Alanid’s shining vocals. She’s originally from Nebraska, but the band was formed in Kansas City. There’s an entire webpage on their site devoted to explaining the story behind this song, too – which kinda helps us choose, now don’t it? Their song, “HGX,” appeared in a Super Bowl commercial, as well.

Wyoming
ZamTrip – “Miles Away”
Wyoming is the most desolate state population-wise, so we’re always honored to share what this state has to offer. ZamTrip come from Rock Springs, so naturally they’d be a rock band, right? Samantha Newman sings lead, while the three Zampedi brothers comprise the band. Dare we say it’s one of the state’s best efforts in this contest to date? Maybe? We’ll let you decide.
