#50SS 2018 Song Announcements #3
Pardon the abnormal title for this blog, but we will be announcing more entries with each passing day, so we might as well start countin' like it's hot.
It's an exciting time for us here in the quote-on-quote 'offices' of the 50 States of Song, now that we have learned the entries for the four states who participated in state song selections. We can continue forward with the rest of the states, and today, we have another five songs to celebrate with you today.

NEW HAMPSHIRE
Evelyn Cormier - Let It Run
It's not a song contest without a straight-up piano ballad! Most people would not know her by name, but if you're a fan of the TLC show "90-Day Fiance," you will be very familiar with Evelyn Cormier. (This also explains the lob-sided ratings on YouTube!) She may be a national name in some circles, but she's still a young woman from New Hampshire working for a singing career. Does she captivate you, or will you let 'it' - the song - run out?

MICHIGAN
Flint Eastwood - Queen
This group was recommended by more than one song-searcher, so it got Michigan's spot under that justification alone. Very obviously named after an (in)famous director, this electro pop band from Detroit fronted by siblings Jax and Seth Anderson, found its roots in a battle-of-the-bands competition eight years ago. It goes to show that, even from the simplest of beginnings you can establish a career if you keep focused and - oh, it helps if you're good at what you do, too. Is Michigan destined for another Top 10 result?

WISCONSIN
The Millenium - Wild Again
If you grew up as a American kid in the 1990s, the above video will tap into your inner "Pete" - indie pop group The Millenium are named after a pysch-rock band from the 1960s led by Eau Claire native Curt Boettcher. Lead singer Matt Hasenmueller and crew are now living in Minneapolis, but sticking true to where they came.

NEW MEXICO
Red Light Cameras - Survive
I encourage you to hang in there and keep listening. Because even though "Survive" is a slow build, the vocal heights of Amanda Machon will captivate you! One of the first songs in the contest to be announced that takes influence from soul, rock, and pop, Red Light Cameras (based in Albuquerque) have a wide array of musical strengths. Can this song survive through to the Final Round?

KANSAS
Piper - How's It Workin' For You?
Piper's website proclaims she is "the daughter of a famous Top Ten recording artist," and yet she is from a "small town in Kansas." So that's something you don't see every day! For the second year running, Kansas sends a young girl with a bouncy pop single. "How's It Workin' For You?" should be the Millenial generation's burning question - in her own words, it comes from how "people in relationships aren't satisfied with what they have, and are always looking for someone better." Are you looking for something better, or is this the song for you?
